Sage Patanjali stated: Yogah Citta Vritti Nirodah. Swami Vivekananda explained this as Yoga restraining the mind from taking various forms.
The business of the mind is to think. Its nature is to flit. Every nanosecond the human experiences this. And yet, Yoga calls for its restraint as the definitive need to discover bliss, perfection, the divine. So, how can this be done?

There are two aspects to this: concentration and the capacity to always remain still. Concentration is something that is easily understood since it is dinned into us since childhood. Stillness of the mind is more elusive.

Emotions control our behavior in the personal and public spaces. The result is conflict, turmoil, and unhappiness both, as individuals and as a society. At VYASA-LA effort is made to train the mind to systematically sharpen and diffuse the overtones of such emotions.
A key part of VYASA-LA training is the uniquely formulated Cyclic Meditation which acknowledges the cyclicity of nature and puts the human mind in harmony with it. With rounds of stimulation and relaxation, silence is achieved.

This is attained not with a heavy, forced hand but with apt techniques that can be activated at the right place and the right moment. For the practitioner there is always awareness, but the mind is always in a state of relaxation!
